The alarm company that a large Victoria janitorial supply store used to have was a huge international chain whose western Canada accounts were all monitored from Calgary. One night, crooks had the time to use larger and larger rocks to smash their way into the store and steal whatever they wanted. Long distance line problems had prevented Calgary from receiving the signal. After that, they switched to a local company. They switched to Price’s Alarms. Two weeks later the crooks came back. The instant the first rock hit the window the alarm went off, Price’s Alarms 24 hour local monitoring notified the police and the perpetrators took to their heels – the only things in their hands this time were the other rocks they never had a chance to throw.
